History of the Office
- 1961 shifted from Karachi to Jauharabad
- 1968 shifted to Rawalpindi with camp office at Jauharabad
- 1972 shifted to Islamabad, camp office Rawalpindi
- 1984 present site
- 1977 began construction of colony for employees, 250 flates completed out of 500
Computerization
- Computerization of payroll first started in 1969
- Initiated through a presidential order through the then modernization and mechanization wing of the Cabinet Division
- Work under taken through UBL at Rawalpindi
- Accounts computerized in 1983. The work was transferred from UBL to Pakistan Computer Bureau located in Islamabad.
- In-house processing was started in 1995, system called 'legacy'
- Processing through PIFRA/SAP started in 2004, concurrently with legacy for initial few months
